Everyone’s calling me

Everyone’s worried

“You’re right next to Ukraine”

“How is this affecting you?”

“Are you sure you’re safe?”

“How are they protecting you?”

But don’t worry about me

I’m not the one

I’ll never turn away your prayers

I could always use some

But don’t worry about me

I’m not one

I’m not the one hurting

The one lonely

I’m not the one helpless

The one hungry

I’m not the one that needs your prayers now

I’m not the one to be in your thoughts right now

Send them somewhere more worthy

To a people much more deserving

Everyone’s calling me

Everyone’s worried

“You’re near all the action”

“You aren’t afraid?”

“Tell me you’re worried”

“You don’t have to be brave”

Don’t worry about me

I’m not the one

The one scared of what is right outside my door each morning

If my children will come home from school each afternoon

Of if my husband will be sent to fight

If my city will be safe for me tonight

Everyone’s calling me

Everyone’s worried

“Are you covered by NATO?”

“Will they protect you?”

“Where is the embassy?”

“Will they come get you?”

Don’t worry about me

I’m not the one

So many without my privileges

With no one to come to their aid

They are helpless to defend themselves

I have others fighting for me every day

I find peace in my country of residence

They find attack on theirs

Everyone’s calling me

Everyone’s worried

They’re thinking of me

But I am not

They’re scared for my safety

That’s not my priority

There’s so much more going on then some U.S. girl in the country nextdoor

There’s not much we can do, but fight the invisible side of this war

I don’t have camo, though I do wear combat boots

I haven’t been trained to fight, I can’t do much to aid the troops

But I can lift my voice to plead with my Heavenly Father

I pray protection and peace over His Ukrainian sons and daughters

So if you’re calling me

If you’re worried

Remember I’m not the one who needs your prayers now

I’m not the one in need of saving

But you could pray for me if you’d like

That my peace would be unwavering

Pray for my heart that is breaking for their country

But more than that pray for their breaking country

Pray for them, their people, their hurting

Pray for the people my prayers are supporting

Give your time to them, not me today

Take it to the feet of the Father, that’s where you’ll find me anyway

  1. Your heart is beautiful, thank you for sharing just a bit of it with us. Praying for those who need it more than I do.

  2. Love how you were able to express what this situation is like. How we are just desiring to love on those around us during this time, but mostly experiencing supernatural peace!

  3. This was so beautiful. Your creativity, humility, selflessness and pursuit of the Father are so evident. Holding you tightly in prayer as you serve where you are needed most!
